Insight from an OSINT Expert: Ritu Gill on Kase Scenarios

At Kase Scenarios, we create immersive training scenarios for real people, real-life situations, and real OSINT work. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, Kase Scenarios has something to offer you. Case in point: Ritu Gill.

Ritu Gill is a force in the OSINT world. She has spent 18 years in law enforcement, working on a range of tasks, including criminal investigations and intelligence gathering. She’s also the President of the OSMOSIS Association and co-founder of Forensic OSINT

In this interview, she talks about her path into OSINT, how she discovered Kase Scenarios, and the impact the training has had on her skills (spoiler alert: she’s a fan!).

Here’s what she had to say…

Can you introduce yourself and share a bit about your background?

My name is Ritu Gill, and I have 18 years of experience working in law enforcement. Over the years, I’ve worked on a wide range of cases involving everything from criminal investigations to intelligence gathering. I’ve been deeply involved with the OSINT community for a number of years now, which I really enjoy. I currently serve as President of the OSMOSIS Association, an organization that supports OSINT professionals through education, collaboration, and community engagement. I’m also the co-founder of Forensic OSINT, a tool designed to help professionals preserve and document online content in a reliable, defensible way.

What got you interested in OSINT?

In law enforcement, we rely heavily on timely and accurate information, and over time, open-source intelligence became another valuable tool in my investigative toolbox. Interestingly, my path into OSINT wasn’t something I intentionally set out to pursue—it developed naturally as my career progressed and my experience grew. I became truly interested in OSINT when I saw firsthand how effectively it could complement traditional investigative methods, adding new pivots to the work I was already doing.

How did you hear about Kase Scenarios, and what made you try it?

I came across Kase Scenarios through the online OSINT community. What immediately stood out to me was how different it is from anything else I’ve seen out there. It takes a practical, scenario-based approach that goes beyond theory and really immerses you in investigative thinking.

Which scenarios have you completed, and which was your favorite?

I’ve completed Project Sandshark, but even just that challenged me to think critically and reinforced how even small pieces of data can uncover useful information.

How has Kase Scenarios helped you develop your OSINT skills?

Kase Scenarios has helped me to keep learning and thinking critically. Even as an experienced OSINT practitioner, I still run into challenges and roadblocks, and that’s exactly why it’s so important to continually push ourselves and take on these types of challenges.

Do you feel more prepared for real-world OSINT work after completing them?

Yes, definitely. Even with my OSINT background, these scenarios helped me fine-tune my skills. They introduced new tools, pushed me to think in different ways, and confirmed that my approach works well in complex, real-world situations.

What would you say to someone on the fence about trying Kase Scenarios?

I’d say: don’t hesitate. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience like me, Kase Scenarios is a great way to grow your skill set.

How do you see OSINT—and Kase Scenarios—playing a role in your future career?

OSINT is already a big part of investigations, and it’s only getting bigger. Kase Scenarios really helps you get better at critical thinking. The more real, hands-on practice you get with situations like these, the better you’ll be in the field.

From discovering Kase Scenarios through the OSINT community to sharpening her skills with Project Sandshark, Ritu Gill shows how the training benefits even seasoned professionals. Her story proves that hands-on OSINT practice can make you more effective and prepared for real-world investigations.
